Burgerville Makes Green News

Burgerville, one of our customers, was recently covered in the blog “The Green Bin”. Along with discussing Burgerville’s recycling operations and focus on “Fresh. Local. Sustainable.” food items, The Green Bin also covered how Burgerville makes an effort to use environmentally-friendly energy sources.

One portion of the story not covered by The Green Bin is how good Burgerville is at saving energy in the back of the house. Of course, Burgerville uses Imperial walk-in coolers in their back of the house operations and we work hard to make sure that these coolers are highly energy efficient.

It’s important to Burgerville to continue their environmentally-aware standards and walk-in coolers are no place to stop. Refrigeration counts for more than $1 brillion in expenses just in the U.S. According to the Energy Star program, simple upgrades to more energy-efficient components could save roughly 25% of the energy costs and also be the environmental equivalent to removing 475,000 cars from the road in the first year.

We are proud to contribute to the efforts Burgerville makes in being an environmentally conscious company and we are happy to have Imperial walk-in coolers be a part of those efforts.

You can read more about changes that bring greater energy efficiency to refrigeration on the rest of our web site and through an award-winning article we wrote for Foodservice Consultants Society International.
